Overview
Patrick J. Concannon is a partner in Nutter's Intellectual Property and Corporate and Transactions Departments, with over 20 years experience devoted to helping businesses establish and protect their brands, including more than 15 years as a practicing trademark attorney. He focuses his practice on U.S. and international trademark clearance, trademark portfolio management and protection and trademark and copyright licensing. Pat drafts sophisticated commercial agreements and provides advertising, unfair competition, consumer protection, internet and privacy law counseling. He represents companies in trademark and copyright dispute proceedings (including before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board), in domain name arbitration proceedings and in negotiating settlement agreements in these areas. Pat has extensive experience in trademark clearance and policing expertise, which is derived in part from his pre-law background working as a management team member and researcher with a leading trademark research firm.
His privacy and data protection practice focuses on website and electronic commerce counseling and compliance counseling. Pat's brand protection experience and capabilities and his commercial agreement skills uniquely position him to provide cross-disciplinary legal services, particularly to companies that have an interactive web presence.
Pat is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, the preeminent credential in the field. He is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Pat is a member of The International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s U.S. Trademark Law Committee and the International Trademark Association.
