World Trademark Review Ranks Nutter Among Top Trademark Firms in 2020 WTR 1000Print PDF
Nutter was ranked in the 2020 WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, the definitive guide to trademark professionals published by the World Trademark Review (WTR). The guide stated that “Nutter recently beefed up its IP group…its new lawyers focus primarily on patent law but have trademark chops, too, giving the firm increased bandwidth on the brands side of the practice.”
Pat Concannon and Rory P. Pheiffer, partners in Nutter’s Intellectual Property Department, were recognized as leading practitioners “who have been knocking it out of the park recently.” According to the guide, Pat “is an authority on the protection of brand value and reputation in the digital realm. He likes to be hands on with his work and clients and does not pass work off to inexperienced attorneys – something which characterizes Nutter’s approach more broadly.” Sources lauded Rory’s patent and trademark experience, noting, “It is all too easy for a brand to get caught up in over-submitting trademarks, debating countless questions regarding contesting other brands or managing multiple timelines. Sifting through the how, when and where to act is of critical business importance; Rory provides the insight that a local boat captain might provide first-time sailors and has the ability to distil multiple trademark strategies into single cohesive game plans for your brand.” Another reference commented, “without Rory we would most certainly have left ourselves vulnerable and possibly stopped the process of protecting our rights altogether out of sheer frustration – he would not let that happen and we are the better for it.”
The WTR 1000 analyzes the local trademark legal services markets in more than 70 jurisdictions worldwide, profiling the firms and individuals singled out as leaders in their respective fields. To arrive at the rankings, researchers evaluated factors such as depth of expertise, market presence, and the level of work, alongside positive peer and client feedback.
