Nutter would like to wish all players in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) good luck in their pursuit of the 2021 Isobel Cup in Lake Placid, New York. NWHL players representing the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps, and expansion Toronto Six will compete in the NWHL’s 2021 season and postseason from January 23 through February 5, with all games played at the historic Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid. The NWHL semi-finals and finals on February 4 and February 5, and the presentation of the 2021 Isobel Cup, will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network, the first-ever women’s professional hockey games to air on a major national cable network in the United States. All other games of the NWHL 2021 Season will be broadcast live on Twitch, a leading live streaming platform.

Nutter represented the NWHL in connection with its preparation of the NWHL 2021 Season in Lake Placid, including securing a broadcast agreement with NBC Sports Network and a venue agreement for the event with the Herb Brooks Arena. Nutter also represented the NWHL in connection with its reorganization to an unincorporated association and new governance model, resulting in the original six NWHL member clubs being subject to the terms of the NWHL Constitution and Bylaws with each of the member clubs being represented on the NWHL Board of Governors.

The NWHL matters related to the reorganization and 2021 Season have been handled by Jonathan Calla, with assistance from Emily Grannon Fox on employment matters; Melissa Sampson McMorrow on tax and nonprofit matters; Liza Hadley, Mark Leonardo, and Pat Concannon on intellectual property and licensing matters; and Kelly Dutremble and Kate Henry on corporate matters.
