Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP announced today that Patrick J. Concannon has joined the firm as partner in its Intellectual Property and Business practices. He focuses on U.S. and international trademark clearance, trademark portfolio management, and trademark and copyright licensing. Concannon also works with clients on critical issues related to privacy and data protection, including advice centered on website and electric commerce counseling and privacy law compliance counseling. Concannon’s brand protection experience and commercial agreement skills uniquely position him to provide cross-disciplinary legal services, particularly to companies that have an interactive web presence. Concannon joins Nutter from Locke Lord LLP in Boston.

Concannon represents companies in trademark and copyright dispute proceedings, domain name arbitration proceedings, and negotiating settlement agreements. Before becoming a lawyer he had a successful career as a researcher with a leading trademark research firm, which serves as the framework for much of his trademark clearance and policing expertise.

In 2014, Concannon received an individual mention in World Trademark Review’s 1000 “The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” for Massachusetts. He received his B.A. from Marquette University and his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School.

Concannon comes to Nutter following the March hiring of Lana Gladstein, an IP partner with litigation experience whose practice focuses on strategic uses of intellectual property for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
