Boston – Nutter represented The Gove Company, Inc. in its sale of a parking lot on Newbury Street in Boston to L3 Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm. The total value of the transaction was $40 million. Phil Rosenblatt, past chair of Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and co-chair of the firm’s Commercial and Real Estate Finance group, led the legal team, which included Beth Mitchell, Michael Mooney, Jessica Alfano Powell, Kevin Meuse, and David Libardoni.

The Gove Company is owned by shareholders who were members of a family that owned the property for generations. Nutter served as corporate counsel to the company and advised a number of family members in the transaction.

Located in Back Bay, this one-third of an acre parcel was the only surface parking lot in one of Boston’s most desirable neighborhoods. Covering the corner of Newbury and Dartmouth Streets and a block from Copley Square, the parcel is at the heart of the city’s upscale retail and mixed-use development.

Lawyers in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions, Private Client, and Real Estate Departments collaborated closely to ensure a smooth transaction.
