In the article, “Associates of the Boston Public Library Announce Changes,” the former Chairwoman, Vivian Spiro, lauds Peter as the “perfect candidate” to succeed her. She states, “Though his sterling professional credentials and winning personality make him well suited to lead any organization, I believe that Peter Brown’s intellectual curiosity, commitment to preserving history, and respect for the written word will enable him to take the Associates to the next level. His innate sense of diplomacy and broad cultural bandwidth are also the very qualities a leader of our organization needs to positively engage many different constituencies in our work.”
