Nick Stabile, an associate in Nutter’s Private Client Department, has been named a member of the 2023 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows, and Mariel Smith, an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, has been named a member of the 2023 class of LCLD Pathfinders.

As an LCLD Fellow, Nick will participate in a landmark intensive year-long professional development program connecting him and other high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel, managing partners, and their peers for mentoring and career guidance. LCLD Fellows participate in training sessions and have opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations as well as managing partners from the country’s most prestigious law firms.

"I am thrilled to be part of LCLD’s 2023 Fellows program. The opportunities for learning, mentorship, and connection with leaders and role models are incredible," Nick said. "I’m proud to be part of an ever-growing group of professionals who share a commitment to diversity and inclusion throughout the legal profession."

As an LCLD Pathfinder, Mariel will have opportunities to learn from top leaders in the legal profession as well as career development experts. Over the course of seven months, LCLD Pathfinders gain practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks, leadership skills, and an understanding of career development strategies. In addition to full class programming, each participant is placed in a small group that is led by a Program Facilitator who serves as a mentor to help the Pathfinder connect what they learn in the program to the organization at which they work.

The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners—the leadership of the profession—who have pledged themselves, through their Leaders at the Front initiative and other means, to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. LCLD’s action programs are designed to attract, inspire, and nurture the talent in society and within our organizations, thereby helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership. By producing tangible results in our institutions, LCLD works to promote inclusiveness in members' organizations, in their circles of influence, and in society, with the ultimate goal of building a more equitable and diverse legal profession.
