Nutter announced the continued expansion of its highly regarded Private Client Department with the addition of Danilo Santucci as a partner in its Boston office. Santucci’s practice is focused on advising high net worth individuals and families on their estate and tax planning needs, both domestic and international.

“We are delighted to welcome Dani to Nutter,” said Michael Scott, Nutter’s co-managing partner. “Nutter’s Private Client practice is one of the largest and most well-respected teams of trust and estate planning lawyers in Boston, and Dani’s arrival reflects our continuing commitment to the provision of exceptional service and counsel to our clients on matters of great significance to them.”

Santucci holds an LL.M. in tax law and counsels high net worth clients, trustees, and advisers on achieving their succession and investment goals through a range of tax-efficient techniques. On the domestic side, he has extensive experience advising clients on sophisticated gifting techniques, insurance planning, and planning with family investment entities. Santucci’s cross-border practice includes pre-immigration planning and advising cross-border families on tax and trust law issues related to their U.S. connections.

“Dani is particularly adept at handling complex domestic and international estate planning matters,” said Jeffrey Roberts, chair of Nutter’s Private Client Department. “He brings a unique mix of tax and estate planning expertise that will complement our team’s already significant experience in navigating multi-jurisdictional issues.”

Santucci teaches a course on international estate planning at Boston University School of Law and has published extensively on foreign trusts and other topics related to cross-border estate planning. He is fluent in Italian and a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Prior to joining Nutter, Santucci practiced in the Private Client Group at Ropes & Gray. Previously, he was a senior U.S. tax counsel and wealth planner at an insurance company in Luxembourg, and before that practiced law in the international tax and wealth management groups in the Swiss offices of an international law firm.

Santucci earned his LL.M. and J.D. from Washington University School of Law and his B.A. from McGill University.
