Nutter Elevates Meredith L. Lawrence to General Counsel
Print PDFNutter has promoted Meredith L. Lawrence to the position of General Counsel. Lawrence was most recently the company’s Assistant Firm Counsel and Director of Client Intake and Conflicts. As General Counsel, Lawrence will be responsible for the Firm’s legal function, including risk management, legal ethics counseling, conflicts, and new business intake.
“In the ever-evolving legal industry, one of Nutter’s priorities is investing in the right leadership teams and infrastructure as we continue to strategically expand in key practice areas and geographic markets,” said Michael Scott, co-managing partner of Nutter. Liam O’Connell, Nutter’s co-managing partner, added that “Meredith’s legal acumen and judgment have been invaluable to the Firm’s business initiatives and growth over the past several years, and we look forward to her continued contribution to Nutter’s success.”
In the General Counsel role, Lawrence will advise Firm leadership and personnel on legal and compliance matters. She will also direct the Firm’s Conflicts Department on the processing of all new business, lateral hires, and outside positions. As a member of the Firm’s Financial Practices Committee, Lawrence will continue to advise the Firm on best practices and policies.

Lawrence brings more than 15 years of legal experience to her position as General Counsel. Prior to joining Nutter, she served as Manager of Client Intake and Conflicts Control at Ropes & Gray, where she managed the conflicts department of over thirty employees across five locations. Before that, Lawrence practiced as a commercial litigator and mediator. Lawrence earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and her B.S. from Bates College.
