Mary Ryan, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department, discussed the future of online dispute resolution (ODR) in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Mary chaired the Online Dispute Resolution Committee. In the article, “Online dispute resolution pilot may be coming soon,” Mary said, “One of the things the committee learned looking at the experience of other states is that it takes time and thought to do it right.” According to Mary, no matter what ODR in Massachusetts looks like at the outset, another essential function that will be built into the system is an ability for users to give feedback so that the technology can continually be improved and made more user-friendly.
