Seth Berman and Tom Curry Quoted on Data Security in the Financial Services Industry in Law360
Print PDFSeth Berman, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department and leader of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, and Tom Curry, a partner in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and co-leader of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services group, commented on the risks that financial institutions face when they partner with fintech apps and other services in Law360. In the article, “Banks Feeling The Heat Over Fintech Partners’ Cyber Risks,” Seth said, “Now, vendors often hold the data and control the security around it. As a result, the vendor security risk has increased dramatically.” Tom added that vendor security has been on the OCC’s radar for the past several years: “The more core it is to banking, the more significant attention it’s paid by regulators.”
