Seth Berman, a partner and leader of Nutter’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, commented on the 2019 cybersecurity landscape in Law360. In the article, “Cybersecurity & Privacy Predictions for 2019,” Seth said, “It seems as though we're past the point where hackers are stealing a vast number of credit cards, and instead are going after vast quantities of sensitive data.” Seth also discussed how the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is closely watching investment firms dealing in cryptocurrencies. According to Seth, “The SEC has been very active in this space recently. In 2019, we’re likely to see significant developments and more clear law being developed around these issues, including how initial coin offerings ought to be dealt with and what constitutes a security.”
