Seth Berman, a partner and leader of Nutter’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, commented on the Massachusetts data breach update, expected to take effect on April 11, 2019, in Bloomberg Law. In the article, “Massachusetts Data Breach Update Brings New Notice Requirements,” Seth pointed out that despite the requirement to maintain a written information security program (WISP), “a surprisingly large number of companies do not. This new requirement is intended to increase pressure on companies to maintain and update these plans.”
