Nutter participated in this year’s Citizen Schools Mock Trial Apprenticeship Program. The Nutter team, lead by Brian Lee, Steven Lickstein, Katy O’Leary and Jean Rich, has been working with a dozen students from Rogers Middle School in Hyde Park in a collaborative effort with Discovering Justice and Citizen Schools to help low-income children develop the academic leadership skills they need to succeed.

Throughout this 10-week program, Nutter volunteers have taught these middle school students about civic responsibility, the value of the justice system, and the power of their own voices. With their help, these young people were fully prepared as Legal Apprentices for an "Evening of Mock Trials" held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in Boston. In Courtroom 10, Nutter's team presented both sides of their case before the Honorable Leo T. Sorokin and a 12-person jury, all of whom were impressed by the students' excellent performances.
