Nutter Ranks High Among Law Firms for Lawyer Satisfaction in National Survey
Print PDFNutter has ranked first in Boston and second nationally in the annual law firm survey of associate lawyer satisfaction conducted by The American Lawyer. This is the sixth consecutive year that the firm has ranked among the top two firms in the country, having ranked at #1 nationally for the prior five years.
This year’s survey was based on responses from 5,748 third-, fourth-, and fifth-year associates at 146 law firms from around the world. Nutter had perfect scores in five categories including partner-associate relations, associate relations, training and guidance, realistic billable hours, and attitude towards pro bono work.
“Investing in our associate talent is a high priority at Nutter. We believe this benefits everybody: our associates, the firm as a whole and our clients,” said Deborah Manus, co-managing partner. “The firm also tries to foster a culture of mutual respect among all colleagues: partners, associates and non-legal staff. We think this translates into stronger client service teams—and to a higher level of career satisfaction for everyone.”
Key to Nutter associates’ satisfaction is an open organizational structure based on ensuring that associates have access to senior-level guidance, do meaningful work, and have a clear vision for their future at the firm.
“Partners at Nutter regard associates as peers, including us in the highest level projects in a way that helps us grow as attorneys while providing the best possible client service,” said Michael Visconti, III, an associate in intellectual property. “Associates enjoy the culture of respect at Nutter in which partners truly mentor associates and allow us to thoughtfully contribute to the work we do for our clients.”
