The article discusses the possibility of the Gaming Commission announcing a request for proposals for legal services including internal governance, procurement and finance. Mike said it is common for the state to contract with private firms. “The state sends out a request for proposals and with a pretty detailed list of qualifications and tasks, asks a firm to describe how it is qualified to accomplish these tasks, and asks for a rate proposal,” Leon said. “All the larger firms will just have to run conflict checks to see if they represent any development interests involved, “Leon said. “But if they don’t, they’ll probably throw their hats in the ring.”
