McBrine-PILPJohn A. McBrine, an associate in the Trusts and Estates Department, was featured in BBA Week in “PILP 10 Launches Brooke Court Service Center” on September 25. John, a member of the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP), participated in PILP 10’s project with the new Edward W. Brooke Courthouse Court Service Center (CSC), which opened in June. Each year, the BBA PILP crafts a year-long project to address needs in the community. The Brooke Courthouse CSC is one of two pilot service centers which provide invaluable resources for visitors to the courthouse. Staff and volunteers help pro se litigants prepare pleadings, court forms and documents, access existing social services, public computers, workstations, and interpreters, and while CSC staff and volunteers provide legal information, not legal advice, they meet unaddressed needs among community members.
