Mary Ryan, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Environmental and Land Use practice groups, has been named as the exclusive winner in the “Environment & Climate Change” category for Massachusetts in the 2016 Client Choice Awards. Mary was recognized based on excellent reviews from her clients.

The highly regarded awards, in partnership with Lexology and the International Law Office (ILO), recognize law firms and partners that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service. The criteria for the awards focus on the ability to add real value to clients’ business above and beyond other players in the market. Nominees can only be nominated for the Client Choice awards by corporate counsel, and this year’s winners were chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments.

Mary’s practice includes substantial trial and appellate cases in the state and federal courts, particularly in environmental litigation, as well as administrative hearings and proceedings. She has significant expertise in federal and state hazardous waste litigation, including CERCLA and Ch. 21E (federal and state Superfund) cases and related insurance coverage issues, as well as various land use issues. A member of the American College of Environmental Lawyers, she has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for over 25 years, is ranked among the leading environmental law attorneys in Chambers USA, and received the Boston Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Award in 2011.
