Matt Hanaghan and Dan Hartman, of counsel in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and members of the Banking and Financial Services group, will speak at Mass Bankers Association’s 2026 Annual Convention. The session will be focused on “Adopting AI Safely and Soundly: Legal and Regulatory Obligations and Opportunities as AI Becomes a Competitive Necessity.”

AI adoption is officially here. Banks are adopting AI policies and practices at a rapid pace, and regulators are on board, publicly stating that possibly one of the biggest risks for banks is in adopting AI too slowly as nonbank fintechs are taking deposits, making loans, and facilitating payments. Matt and Dan will provide an overview of AI adoption at banks across the Commonwealth, as well as supervisory expectations from the FDIC, the Fed, the OCC, and the Division of Banks.
