Matt Hanaghan and Dan Hartman, of counsel in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and members of the Banking and Financial Services group, will present at “Interpreting the Executive Order Targeting Politicized & Unlawful Debanking,” a Mass Bankers Association webinar.

This session will cover Executive Order 14331, which states that “it is the policy of the United States that no American should be denied access to financial services because of their constitutionally or statutorily protected beliefs, affiliations, or political views, and to ensure that politicized or unlawful debanking is not used as a tool to inhibit such beliefs, affiliations, or political views.”

Attendees will learn how the federal banking agencies and the Small Business Administration are interpreting the Executive Order, practical steps to review their institutions’ practices for compliance, and considerations in responding to regulatory inquiries relating to bank account opening and lending practices.
