Mike Scott and Massachusetts Governor Baker among speakers yesterday talking housing density at SmarterCape Summit

Michael E. Scott, a partner in the Real Estate and Finance Department and a member of the Land Use, Permitting and Development practice group, presented at “SmarterCape Summit 5: Is it Smart to be Dense?”on May 6. The event, which drew 300 attendees, also featured a presentation by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.

The conference included presentations on housing challenges and opportunities facing Cape Cod from multiple perspectives including direct results of a housing survey, and sessions built on information shared in prior conferences regarding density, interactive in the moment (smarter) planning tools, and examples of what others have done to create wage-sustainable housing in their communities. Mike’s panel “Smarter Solutions” focused on housing development including how to create mixed-use developments.
