Overview

Cassandra L.M. Prince is an associate in Nutter’s Private Client Department. She advises high net worth individuals and families on all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, minimizing estate and gift taxes and preserving assets. She also assists with charitable planning and private foundations. Cassandra counsels personal representatives and beneficiaries in connection with the probate process, preparation of estate tax returns, payments of debts and claims, and distribution of assets. In addition, Cassandra assists with setting up conservatorships for incapacitated persons.

Prior to joining Nutter, Cassandra served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Justice Allison D. Burroughs at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Additionally, Cassandra served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Megan H. Christopher at the Suffolk Probate and Family Court in Massachusetts, and spent some time interning for the Honorable Elaine M. Moriarty at the Fiduciary Litigation Session in Norfolk Probate and Family Court in Massachusetts.

Before attending law school, Cassandra was a recruitment manager at an education nonprofit organization in Boston, MA. She led outreach to prospective candidates for tutoring fellowships and a teacher training program, including coordinating national on-campus recruiting events and managing relationships with academic professionals, community organizations, and external partners. Additionally, Cassandra held various positions at a high school in Boston and served as an AmeriCorps Fellow for two years.

Active in the community, Cassandra serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Advancement of Representation in Education in Massachusetts created by Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. She was accepted into the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Cassandra serves on the board of the Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys (MBWA) and is the Chair of the Community Service Committee of MBWA. Furthermore, she is the Co-Chair of the Networking & Social Events Committee for the New Lawyers Forum at the Boston Bar Association (BBA), is the Liaison to the Trust and Estates Section at the BBA, is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), and serves as a member of BEPC’s Community Engagement Committee. In 2023, Cassandra was recognized by The National Black Lawyers as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” Black lawyers in Massachusetts. 

During law school, Cassandra was the director of external relations for the Black Law Students Association-Kemet Chapter, a law student ambassador at the BBA, and a student representative at Northeastern University School of Law for the Center Against Institutional Racism (“CAIR”). She is fluent in Haitian Creole.
