Overview

Mark W. McCarthy is of counsel in Nutter’s Real Estate Department. Mark focuses his practice on advising clients on a broad range of real estate transactions.

Mark has extensive experience counseling clients on the acquisition, financing, development, and disposition of commercial, industrial, and retail properties. He regularly advises developers on the negotiation of commercial leases. Companies across an array of industries engage Mark for legal counsel on the real estate and finance aspects of corporate transactions. He has particular expertise advising private equity clients on financing transactions in the health care and alternative energy sectors.

Mark has taught a problem solving workshop at Harvard Law School for several years. In addition, he has advised small businesses at a pro bono clinic.

Prior to joining Nutter, Mark practiced real estate and corporate law in the Boston office of an international law firm.

    Nutter represented Hometown Financial Group, Inc., the bank holding company of bankESB (Easthampton, MA) and bankHometown (Oxford, MA), in connection with its acquisition of Pilgrim Bank, a Massachusetts-chartered co-operative bank headquartered in Cohasset, MA, and its bank holding company, Pilgrim Bancshares, Inc. (OTCMKTS: PLRM).
