Melissa Sampson McMorrow, chair of Nutter’s Tax Department and co-chair of the firm’s Nonprofit and Social Impact practice group, and Mike Scott, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, wrote an article that addressed how Opportunity Zones are generating a high degree of interest among investors, developers, government officials, and community development organizations in Banker & Tradesman. In the article, “Navigating Opportunity Zones – Will Investors Be Enticed?,” Melissa and Mike discussed how investors and developers need to know three things about this new tax benefit: the basic requirements, the timing, and the unknowns.
