Print PDF

Nutter is pleased to host a discussion with Administration and Finance Secretary Matthew Gorzkowicz about the Commonwealth’s budgetary challenges for the remainder of FY 2024 and for FY 2025. Secretary Gorzkowicz is in the middle of budget discussions and analysis, overseeing the fiscal and management activities of the entire executive branch of the Massachusetts state government. The Secretary is the Healey/Driscoll Administration’s chief budget negotiator with the Legislature’s Ways and Means Committees. In this breakfast at Nutter, the Secretary will provide a candid and realistic assessment of the Commonwealth’s fiscal condition.

Secretary Gorzkowicz has more than 25 years of experience in state finance and budgeting in the Commonwealth. Prior to being appointed as Secretary of Administration of Finance, he served as the Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance at the University of Massachusetts President’s Office for more than a decade, where he has had a direct role in setting the University’s long-range administrative and financial goals and managed the development of an annual operating budget. Prior to UMass, Secretary Gorzkowicz worked in the Massachusetts Senate, the Department of Mental Health, the School Building Authority, and the Executive Office for Administration and Finance under Governor Deval Patrick, where he served as Assistant Secretary for Budget and then Undersecretary.
