Nelson Apjohn, a partner in the Litigation Department, served on the panel and presented at the “What to Do When Getting Sued in the U.S.” program at the TechLaw Fall Meeting hosted by the Plesner law firm in Copenhagen on October 30. A panel of U.S. lawyers from TechLaw firms presented to representatives of Danish businesses and lawyers an overview of the U.S. legal system and some of the issues that arise in U.S. litigation, in particular concerning personal jurisdiction and discovery. The presentation included a mock hearing on a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction over a hypothetical business headquartered in Copenhagen.
