Ian Roffman, a partner in the firm’s Securities Enforcement and Litigation practice group, served as a moderator at the Boston Bar Association’s “BBA Roundtable With Paul Levenson, Head of SEC's Boston Office” on December 10. This roundtable discussion with recently appointed SEC Boston Office Director Paul Levenson offered an opportunity for those who practice before the SEC's Boston office to engage in a public discussion about the SEC's policies and practices, possible areas of future focus, and suggestions for maximizing the effectiveness of the SEC's regulatory and enforcement mission. The program was a "listening tour" format in which Paul Levenson heard from panels of prominent members of the bar, representing a cross-section of those who do business with the SEC's Boston office, in a public forum as he formulated his thoughts and plans for running the office. Ian moderated two panels, one with outside counsel and one with in-house counsel.
