John McBrine Presents on Qualified Appraisals at The New England Museum Association

John McBrine, a partner in Nutter’s Private Client Department and member of the Nonprofit and Social Impact practice group, recently presented at the New England Museum Association on qualified appraisals and what they entail. The session, entitled “The Price, the Value, and the IRS: What are Collections Worth?” educated attendees on what a qualified appraisal includes, the differences in values used, why auction house value is not necessarily appropriate, insuring collections, and how appraisals are used for tax purposes.
