In the article, Steven discusses five myths about patents he’s encountered during his law career – “I have a patent so that I can sell the product,” “a patent is a technical document,” “never search before filing a patent application because it is dangerous,” “software is not patentable,” and “my technology is provisionally patented.” Steven shares his personal experiences with some of these myths as a patent attorney and angel investor, and provides tips on how to approach such situations. According to Steven, “Careful consideration of business strategy is key to ensuring a patent has value.”
