Overview
Bryan M. Connor is an associate in Nutter’s Litigation Department and a member of Nutter’s Regulatory practice. Bryan concentrates his practice on government and internal investigations and regulatory matters, with an emphasis on securities litigation and enforcement. Bryan regularly represents clients before the DOJ, SEC, state attorneys general, and the Massachusetts Securities Division. An experienced trial lawyer and former prosecutor, Bryan also represents clients in complex commercial and employment litigation in state and federal court.
Bryan has considerable experience representing broker-dealers, investment advisers, and registered representatives in all phases of investigations conducted by the SEC, state securities regulators, and FINRA. Bryan also represents clients in FINRA arbitration proceedings.
Bryan also regularly works with clients to conduct internal investigations to uncover potential wrongdoing, make independent findings, head off litigation or regulatory inquiries, or remediate malfeasance. He frequently conducts investigations into allegations of executive criminal conduct, whistleblower allegations, improper use of company resources, and workplace harassment. Bryan has worked closely with a Fortune 25 conglomerate, several large public companies, boards of directors, special litigation committees, and audit committees on high-stakes, complex investigations. He also has experience counseling clients on consumer protection investigations by the FTC. Bryan combines his years of experience as a prosecutor and defense-side litigator to craft creative investigatory strategies for his clients.
Bryan maintains an active pro bono practice with an emphasis on representing immigrants in asylum proceedings. Bryan is active in white collar and securities enforcement groups at the Boston Bar Association and American Bar Association.
Prior to joining Nutter, Bryan was a senior associate at an AmLaw 10 law firm. Before that, he was an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, where he tried numerous jury trials to verdict. Before attending law school, Bryan worked in the Boston Red Sox front office.
Bryan served on the board of editors of the Suffolk University Law Review during law school.
