Natalie Choate, a member of Nutter’s Trusts and Estates Department, wrote an article evaluating the retirement account options available to reduce current income taxes by contributing funds to a plan while at the same time receiving required minimum distributions in Morningstar News. In the article, “Retirement Accounts: Keep Contributing After Age 70 ½?,” Natalie points out that while it seems strange to take required minimum distributions out of a plan while putting funds back in, this technique does work well for some people.
