Seth Berman, a partner and leader of Nutter’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, authored an article for Infosecurity Magazine that examines how the history of hacking has come full circle. In the article, “Cryptojacking: Back to Basics,” Seth elaborates on how recent cryptojacking attacks are a return to the origins of hacking as hackers are breaking into infinitely more powerful systems to use computing power for cryptocurrency mining. Seth points out that cryptojacking has implications for those involved in the fight against hacking and that this new wave of hacking will raise new security concerns for CISOs and CIOs already dealing with a seemingly unending variety of cybersecurity threats.
