Tom Curry, a partner in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and co-leader of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services group, weighed in on national chartering options for fintechs in American Banker. In the article, “Fintechs May Finally Win Charter Case in 2019,” Tom observed that the most likely one “to occur, I think, in 2019 would be the full-service, FDIC-insured bank with a fintech business plan. Just looking at it from the broader landscape, an institution that is acquiring a standard charter is probably the path of least resistance.”
