Tom Curry Quoted on the Bank Regulatory Environment in Financial Times Global Risk Regulator

Tom Curry, a partner in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department and co-leader of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services group, commented on the Fed exploring how to recalibrate the regulatory environment for banks in Financial Times Global Risk Regulator. In the article, “U.S. Deregulatory Moves Could Be Challenged After Mid-Term Elections,” Tom says, “From a former bank supervisor’s standpoint, I think there was a recognition that assets are the first screen but [you can] take into account other factors. The Fed always had the ability to tailor provisions; the bill has made it mandatory with the use of the word ‘shall’.”
