Ronald Cahill quoted in “Smart phone rivalry plays out in patent suits”Print PDF
Ronald Cahill, manager of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and co-chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation practice, was quoted in “Smart phone rivalry plays out in patent suits” in The Bismarck Tribune on December 17. The article discusses the increased number of patents filed recently in attempt to protect the makers of smart phones as well as help fend off competition.
Ron explains how filing patent suits can benefit the makers of smart phones. “Intellectual property lawsuits can also help distract a rival or make entering the market less attractive. Amid fierce competition, companies are suing first rather than approaching rivals about licensing deals,”said Ron.
