Paul J. Cronin, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice group, presented at the first annual IP Strategy Summit on October 6. Paul presented on the panel “Post Issuance Proceedings – Their Role in Your IP Strategy,” which focused on understanding how to best utilize the AIA’s four pseudo-litigation proceedings—post-grant review, inter partes review, CBM, and the new supplemental examination (a process which is supposed to be faster and more streamlined)—to help shore up effective defensive and enforcement strategies.

Topics included:

  • IPR – is the “Patent Killer” still so deadly?
  • Effectively utilizing the proceedings to get what you really want
  • Defensive strategic implications of the new proceedings
  • Cost and timing considerations

Nutter was proud to serve as a sponsor of this conference, which covered the challenges and opportunities of the new IP landscape.
