Jennifer Sacco Smith is of counsel in Nutter’s Real Estate Department. She advises clients in a wide range of industries on complex commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on commercial leasing and ground leasing transactions.

Jennifer represents investors and developers in commercial, industrial, retail, and mixed-use projects both regionally and nationally. She has counseled a Fortune 10 retailer in ground lease transactions nationwide, private real estate investment firms in leasing and dispositions of office and industrial parks around the country, labs and biotech companies in negotiation of long term leases, and multiple end users, tenants and property owners in the negotiation of leases involving co-working spaces. She also counsels clients on land use and disposition matters related to individual properties and portfolios. Jennifer has extensive experience advising on a wide array of properties, including office projects, development parcels, multi-property portfolios, industrial properties, retail projects and multi-family projects. Investment funds, developers, and other private entities engage Jennifer for due diligence reviews in connection with the acquisition of real estate assets. She has represented clients before local administrative bodies, government agencies and officials, and community groups on land use matters, including affordable housing, historic resource, and density bonus laws. Jennifer is a LEED-accredited professional with the knowledge to provide developers with guidance and oversight on how to obtain certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.

Active in the real estate industry, Jennifer is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW) New England; NAIOP; and the American and Boston Bar Associations. She serves as president of Cushing Pond Preservation Group, Inc., which seeks to restore and preserve the ecological integrity of Cushing Pond in Hingham, Mass. for public use

Prior to joining Nutter, Jennifer was a real estate associate at law firms in Boston and Los Angeles. Previously, she was a legal associate at the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston and an intern in the Environmental Protection Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

    Nutter represented Shawmut Corporation, a developer of high-performance composites, in its joint venture with the automotive headliner and specialty industrial fabrics business of Glen Raven Technical Fabrics LLC, a global provider of innovative technical fabric solutions.
