Overview

Samantha M. Spellman is an associate in Nutter’s Real Estate Department. She focuses her practice on all aspects on real estate law, including acquisitions, dispositions, real estate litigation, real estate development, leasing, land use, and permitting.

Prior to joining Nutter, Samantha was a real estate associate at a boutique law firm in Greater Boston where she handled matters concerning real estate litigation, real estate development, easements, land use, permitting, and subdivision.

Samantha also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Keith C. Long of the Massachusetts Land Court, where she assisted with legal research and reasoning on cases regarding zoning bylaw interpretation, easements, adverse possession, privacy, and trespass.

Previously, Samantha spent summers interning in both the Public Corruption Unit and the Economic Crimes Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts where she conducted legal research, prepared memoranda on key issues, and drafted trial briefs on a diverse range of cases for Assistant United States Attorneys. In 2016, Samantha interned at the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, where she supported Assistant District Attorneys by preparing relevant documents and evidence for all cases.

During law school, Samantha was a senior editor for the Boston College Law Review. She served as Vice President of Operations and Programming for the Public Interest Law Foundation, Co-chair of the Community Service Committee for the Law Student Association, and Treasurer of the Real Estate Law Society. She was also a member of the Women’s Law Center.

Samantha’s community involvement includes volunteering with and supporting Cradles to Crayons, Boston Children’s Hospital, New England Aquarium, and Habitat for Humanity. During law school, Samantha served as Vice President of Operations and Programming for the Public Interest Law Foundation and Co-chair of the Community Service Committee for the Law Student Association.

Before Nutter
