Mary Ryan, a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the Environmental and Land Use practice group, was an invited guest at the White House Forum on the State of Civil Legal Assistance, held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington on April 17, 2012. The forum, hosted by the White House and the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), was attended by senior Obama Administration officials and fellow leaders from the legal community and included two panels, a speech by Eric Holder, Attorney General of the United States, and a speech by Harold Koh, General Counsel to the State Department. President Obama made a surprise appearance to thank the group for its work. Mary serves on the Legal Services Corporation Pro Bono Task Force and co-chairs the Obstacles Working Group, which drafted reports for consideration by the LSC Board.
