John K. Dineen
John K. Dineen is Of Counsel, practicing in Nutter's Real Estate Department. He has practiced in all aspects of real estate ownership, development, financing, and leasing as well as municipal zoning, planning, and taxation. As a real estate attorney he is prominent for his role in the development of three landmark Downtown Boston office buildings. John served as principal counsel, from concept through permitting, development, financing, and leasing, of Boston's first high-rise, the State Street Bank Building at 225 Franklin Street, the Keystone Building at 99 High Street and One Financial Center.
John has practiced law for over fifty years, and was appointed a special assistant attorney general. He also advises individual, family and corporate clients on financial planning and structuring investments in business enterprises. He is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.
John has served as a director of several privately-held companies, including P&O Properties Boston, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of The Peninsular and Orient Steam Navigation Company, a publicly-held company based in the United Kingdom; and of Dingle American Properties, Ltd. of County Kerry, Ireland. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Fiduciary Trust Company and its Executive Committee.
John has long been active in many civic and charitable organizations. He is a trustee and member of the Executive Committee of Cambridge College. He chairs the trustees of the Nahant Public Library, and serves on the Board of Directors and as president of the Boston Local Development Corporation. He also is a trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Nahant Preservation Trust. Mr. Dineen is a lifetime trustee of the U.S.S. Constitution Museum Foundation.
John is a former trustee of University Hospital and Boston University Medical Center, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Boston, The Winsor School, Emmanuel College, and the Greater Boston Aid to the Blind. He is a trustee emeritus of The Waring School and Hebron Academy in Maine, former president of Lynn Catholic Family Services, and former member of the Town of Nahant Finance Committee.
