Dawn Curry, a member of the firm’s Data Management and Discovery practice, presented on Massachusetts’ standards for the protection of personal information at the American Business Women’s Association monthly meeting on January 12. The program focused on Massachusetts’ Data Security Law (G.L. ch. 93H), Massachusetts’ Data Disposal Law (G.L. ch. 93I), and the new Massachusetts’ Information Security Regulations (201 CMR 17.00). These new regulations require individuals and businesses that license, store or maintain personal information about Massachusetts residents to come into compliance by March 1, 2010.
